HR Says NO
A downloadable game
So in the office at the new company I work at we have a joke, "HR says no". Anytime we just randomly think doing something would be cool or come up with some ridiculous scheme we look at each other say "something something liability, something something injury. HR says no." laugh and move on. During my lunch breaks I challenged myself to make a quick card game (Pandora's Box) I thought I'd keep that trend going to today and see if I could pop out another one.
So was born, "HR Says NO". You and your group of friends all have various cards in your hands that you can combine together to make the most outrageous team building activity for your turn. Every card has 3 possible stats:
- Liability : How likely it is the company will have to pay for something or be sued. You get 1 point for every 15 liability at the end of the game.
- Injury : How likely it is someone from the office will get hurt doing it. You get 1 point for every 10 injury at the end of the game.
- Fun : How awesome it will be. You get 1 point for every 2 fun at the end of the game.
The point of the game is to make the best combination possible each round and see if you can sneak it past HR. To do this you must defend your activity to the other players. How will it benefit the company? What is the ROI? Does it foster better office camaraderie? Or maybe it provides a much needed stress relief. The other players then decide as a group if they should approve it or not. If they do you get to keep the combined points for that activity and trash the cards. If they don't let it through you get no points but can reshuffle the cards back into your hand.
As always since I made this game in under an hour I appreciate hearing your thoughts on the game!
NOTE: Just like in Pandora's Box money from this game will go to increasing its production value through things like art (cause come on I'm an engineer not a graphic designer).
